The Old Ruckers formed in 2004 as the touch rugby section of MRFC. They play EVERY Thursday night from 7pm at Minchinhampton School’s playing fields in the Summer and under flood lights at Haywards Field (Cirencester Road) in the Winter (from 6 September), and afterwards at The Crown for the customary beers. There is a wide range of abilities and ages. The intention for the Old Ruckers is to get people interested in playing the game again, and also for those who would love to play but either never had the chance or are concerned about full contact. In true Minch rugby fashion everyone is welcome and made to feel at home. While injuries are very few and far between, they can occur. We play expressly on the basis that you do so 'At Your Own Risk'. You can also join Minchinhampton Rugby Football Club as a player for insurance purposes, which we actively encourage. Old Ruckers are always welcome to play for the Minch Rams (2nd's) or if you are any good the 1st XV! Every Season we play our local Stonehouse rivals The Old Dodderers (http://www.dodderers.co.uk) both home and away, with additional fixtures planned. There is a Christmas function and an annual awards night. For more details on social events keep an eye on the Old Ruckers on Facebook.
