Great news! MRFC have been granted planning permission for our own ground and clubhouse at Hollybush Farm.
The Planning Control Committee met this morning and endorsed our application that was supported by SDC.
Big thanks for all the hard work by the current committee, previous committees, Hunter Page Planning and BPE Solicitors, this is a MASSIVE achievement for the club and will help secure the future and the continued growth for all sections of the club.
So what next? Lets celebrate! The plan is to get as many people as possible from all sections of the club to have a celebratory drink at the Halfway House on Friday night. And then more hard work is required, as we will continue to fundraise and work with the RFU and other funding bodies to get the land rugby ready for next season.

The Stuart Singers Support Minchinhampton Rugby Club
Minchinhampton Rugby Club, who are establishing a permanent home and a more sustainable future for the club, were delighted to receive a donation from another source of local pride, the Stuart Singers. The photo shows Musical Director Gerry Palmer presenting the cheque to club Chairman Morgwn Atkins.
The Stuart Singers are a 65-strong group of singers, covering a wide repertoire, who have raised money for many good causes over the last 18 years. The next opportunity to hear them in concert locally will be on the 9th and 10th December 2011 at Holy Trinity Church Minchinhampton. See http://www.stuartsingers.com/index.htm for more information. Minch RFC would like to thank the Stuart Singers for this generous donation which will go towards the new club facility. The club is very grateful for the considerable and unflagging support it receives from the local community.

Minchinhampton RFC - Whole Club Seal of Approval Twickenham Presentation
Minchinhampton Rugby Club, the first Rugby Club in Gloucestershire to be awarded the Rugby Football Union's prestigious Whole Club Seal of Approval accreditation, were invited to Twickenham last Tuesday to be formally presented their award by RFU President Richard Appleby and Senior Vice President Willie Wildash.  It was the first time the RFU had done an awards day like this as they wanted to reward the huge efforts made by clubs in reaching the high benchmark.
The prestigious Whole Club Seal of Approval Award is only given after a rigorous assessment of the organisation of the rugby club, covering areas such as management, recruitment, welfare, coaching, community relationships and long term development to the highest of standards as demanded by the RFU.
Minchinhampton were represented by Seal of Approval Coordinator Pete Varley and Club Chairman Morgwn Atkins, and they received Minch’s award with fellow Seal of Approval recipient clubs from all over country. After a stadium tour they were hosted by former England and British Lion Legends Rob Andrew and Jason Robinson, before the formal presentation.
“It was a very humbling day to be guests of honour. The RFU had gone to great lengths to make the day very special. It was great to see recognition for all the team effort made by all the club’s volunteers to achieve the award.  We won’t be resting on our laurels though, we’ll be working even harder to make the club even more successful”

Minchinhampton 1st XV play in Gloucester 3, and their recently promoted 2nd XV will now play in Gloucester Reserve League 3. They also have an occasional 3rd XV, a fledgling ladies team, and a Touch Rugby side who play all year round. The highly successful Minis and Juniors section now have 190 players ranging from under 6s to under 14s.  The rugby club pride themselves in being fully inclusive, and welcome all players young and old to join them.  For more details about Minchinhampton RFC or if you are interested in joining the club, please email mrfc@minchinhamptonrfc.com
