Minchinhampton Juniors exist to give young children through to teenagers, a chance to experience rugby in a friendly environment. We welcome players, both boys and girls of all abilities (no previous experience required), with teams playing from under 6 through to under 13. Our club base are the playing fields of Beaudesert Park School on Minchinhampton Common, which the school generously allow us to use during our season. We play competitive matches against other teams throughout Gloucestershire, both home and away and the Club currently enjoys a membership of some 175 players. We are particularly strongly represented in the younger age groups, where conspicuous success has been gained at County Cup level in recent years.

The ethos of the Club is that rugby is a game to be enjoyed in the right spirit and although competitive, we are also inclusive. In practical terms that means that wherever possible every member of each squad or year group, who is available to play, will do so at some point in matches or tournaments at which we are represented. Children also have the chance to meet and socialise with other youngsters of the same age as we attract players from schools across the Stroud Valleys.

Communication within the Club is given a high priority. Each squad/year group has its own team manager with the responsibility of liaising with both parents and coaches. In addition there are also parent representatives appointed each year and we have our own Child Protection Officer.

If you have any questions regarding your child playing rugby or MRFC, please contact our Coaching Coordinator Nick Radcliffe on 07776 222 928 or email nichradcliffe@yahoo.co.uk

Parents Responsibilities
Rugby is unavoidably a contact sport and so accidents can happen. While the Club does have First Aid qualified personnel on hand at all times, it must remain the parents' responsibility to ensure that if they can not remain while their child is training or playing in a competition fixture, that they have nominated someone in "loco parentis" and/or for older children, they have a point of contact in an emergency such as a mobile phone number.
We also expect parents to support the club and volunteer to help with catering for home fixtures, this will be co-ordinated by the team managers.
